There are countless variations on the theme that have allowed the white shirt to become an essential garment, a passe-partout that goes with everything. In multiple outfits, we realise that the shirt is no longer one and only one, starched and impeccably tailored, it is constantly transformed: casual with a pair of jeans or a short, blinged-out skirt, minimal with a tube skirt and out of the box when worn as a cover-up. There are some wardrobe essentials, such as the full skirt wool, that are worth investing in; therefore, there is plenty of room for full skirts, with a strong vintage appeal that brings back the glorious details of the 1950s.
In fact, the full skirt made its first appearance in the 1950s, but it was in the post-war period that the full skirt began its evolution, starting with the New Look of Christian Diorin particular, by the famous 'Bar Suit', which consisted of a corolla skirt and a very structured jacket.
With its ample shape and generous, flowing lines, it enhanced the bodies of many film actresses of the time. It has thus become a symbol of femininity, elegance and timeless charm and is often reproposed and reinterpreted on the catwalks of the most famous designers and fashion houses even today.
