Gray pantsuit
The Tailleur is the counterpart of the men's suit and, in the 1980s, symbolized the professional rampantism of career women. The first was made in 1885 by English tailor John Redfern for the Princess of Wales, taking up the styles of the so-called German hongreline. The suit made by Redfern was no-frills, paired with masculine accessories (such as a vest and tie), but was anything but comfortable. There are countless variations on the theme that have allowed the white shirt to become an essential garment, a passe-partout that goes with everything. In multiple outfits, we realise that the shirt is no longer one and only one, starched and impeccably tailored, it is constantly transformed: casual with a pair of jeans or a short, blinged-out skirt, minimal with a tube skirt and out of the box when worn as a cover-up. Gianfranco Ferrè claimed that 'more than one outfit can revolve around the simplicity of a white shirt'.
